This drawing dates back to 1994. A4, 2B-5B pencil. She has a resemblance to Selina Scott, however, this is unintentional. It was a "familiar" face though.

I have changed some of the posts here to reflect history and when the drawings were done. I am inspired by some of Jack Vettriano's work, however, I have a very long way to go to reach his standards! that said, it is something to aspire to. I have used the blogger as a medium to show parts of my portfolio that does not reach the light of every day. I have two commissions in this theme, but they reflect a personal intimacy that remains private with the commissioners. However, I do know that one does hang on public display in the Lady's house.

This was one of the more recent portrait style drawings. Done on A3, graphite pencil, 4B-9B. These pictures in this series are all photo's of the drawings, reduced to a small size. This one was simpler and meant there had to be more attention to detail, again, the hair probably took the longest part to do.

This was worth the effort, you cannot beat the beauty of a good looking woman wearing a stylish hat, the effort here was on the subtlety of the feathers in the hat and the material in her dress. There's a nuance from the shaded face and expression too. Out of all these styles of drawing this has been my personal choice. A3 220gr paper, 4B-9B pencil.

This was a very early part of my recent portfolio. I had yet do discover some of the more subtle techniques to graphite and smoothing. It's no one I know but inspiration always helps. Overall size was midway between A4 and A3, it was a handy size pad, 190grm, but no longer in production. Graphite pencil 3B-6B
